Do you compare your biking skills to 8-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong? The 3rd annual Tour de Scottsdale kick-off party is Thursday, July 26th at DNA Cycles. You can register between 6pm and 8pm for 30-mile and 70-mile tours. During the kick-off party, DNA cycles will be running registration discounts and store specials for all your biking needs.
The Tour de Scottsdale is a 70 mile ride that feature the preservation work of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy. If you’re not up to The 70-mile course, an easier 30-mile course is also available. Both course’s provide stunning views of the preserve and serves as a point of focus to the vital mission of the conservancy.
The actual ride takes place on October 14th, 2012 rain or shine. Organizers request participants to dress accordingly just in case of rain or maybe the sun will be at its peak that day and you’ll need to keep cool. In the past, mornings begin with a cool start, at the mid-sixties to low-seventies and toward the end of the day, high temperatures come close to 100 degrees. The Event offers festivities as well that include prizes, music, food, vendors, and activities for the entire family to enjoy.

30-mile Tandem – ride a tandem bike with a partner
30-mile Team – teams consist of a minimum of five cyclists, matching
jerseys not required

In order to participate, you can register online at “Active.com.” Word of caution – once you register, there are no refunds. In the event of illness or other issues which cause you to drop out of the ride, event entries are not transferable to another rider. However, Tour de Scottsdale will attempt to accommodate you if something arises that prevent you from riding when you have already registered if done within an allotted time period. While the refund policies are strict, Tour de Scottsdale will allow any athlete to cancel their registration for an event up to 7 days prior to the event. The individual will receive an entry credit which will be valid for the same event the

All times and the race course is subject to change at the discretion of the race organization. All distances are approximate by GPS measurements. It’s always a possibility unforeseen circumstances like police activity, acts or threats of terrorism could lead to the event cancellation.
