Grayhawk Community HOA – Board meeting recaps

If you live in Grayhawk in North Scottsdale or looking to move there, here’s a glimpse of the Grayhawk Master Association  and its Board of Directors’ meetings.  This is a transcript from Grayhawk Flight Magazine.

It gives you a great idea of just how residents get involved and care about the community.

Here are just some briefs from each meeting.

GRAYHAWK COMMITTEE REPORTS

Priot to the Committee Reports, a resident from the Raptor Retreat in Grayhawk asked to speak to the Board of Directgors regarding the Grayhawk Golf Club‘s use of a wood burning fireplace. He has been requesting that the Grayhawk Golf Club switch to gas and was making a formal request of the Grayhawk Community Association Board to step in and get involved.

Board president Paul Given clarified that the Association is not affiliated with the Grayhawk Golf Club and the Grayhawk Golf Club is not a member of the Associaton.  The Board of Directors recommended that the homeowner post his concerns on the message board on the Garyhawk web site to see if other residents are concerned as well.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

The City of Scottsdale Design Review Board will be looking at the second revision to plans made by TDI Residential for the luxury apartmetns to be built at the north end of One Scottsdale.  Also, the Sierra Pinta Outfall project has been completed by the City of Scottsdale, and the city will maintain this area for one year prior to the GCA taking over the maintenance of the outfall channel.

OPERATIONAL REVIEW COMMITTEE

Don Morse reported we have several new Trident Security staff members at Grayhawk and that two current Trident Security staff members at Grayhawk and that two current Trident staff members had recently been given awards by Trident for their exemplary service.  After reviewing various vendors to process event and program credit card payments, the Operational Review Committee made a recommendation to the Board to approve the use of Grayhawk’s current web provider, Association Voice, for this service.  A motion was made and app[roved to use the Grayhawk Association Voice credit card payments, the Operational Review Committee made a recommendation to the Board to approve the use of Grayhawk’s current web provider, Association Voice for  this service.  A motion was made and approved to use the Association Voice credit card payment on the Grayhawk web site to process programming related credit card charges, with the possibility of expanding to allow credit card payments for room rentals, advertising payments and more.  The Operational Review Committee reviewed data collected by the speed trailer in the Firenze neighborhood and will continue to place the speed trailer there.  They are thinking of adding a second speed trailer to the area.

LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE

Arlene Smith reported that the committee did not met. Of the ten proposals approved in the previous month, seven have been completed by DLC Resources.

COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT COMMITTEE

Committee approved to pay for tables for the  Grayhawk Board of  Directors  out of the Grayhawk Community Enhancement Fund.

PROGRAMS COMMITTEE

Committee has been working on events for Spring.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Redirect to the mobile site from grayhawkcommunity.org is working well

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE

Requests for exterior paint, solar panels, stone veneer, awnings and security doors.

BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE

Nothing new to report

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Tables purchased and the Grayahwk Association was able to save $50 per tablet.

ELECTION COMMITTEE

Motion made and approved to amend the Election Policy to state The Election Committee shall assure that a meeting date be held for a “Meet the Candidates Night” no later than two weeks after the ballot distribution. Currently the policy states three weeks.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Grayhawk Community Association has taken in $19,757 in Community Enhancement Fees in January.

MANAGEMENT REPORT

Electronic document management project still underway.  Two proposed HOA bills were defeated by the Arizona State Senate, including the bill that would have allowed for the elimination of the leash law for those that can show documentation of $50,000 in canine insurance.  The Community Ombudsmen bill being proposed was also voted down by the Senate.
